Explain Operating Systems like I’m 5

When we simplified servers we talked touched on operating systems but let’s dig deeper.

An OS (Operating system) is the software allowing the hardware and software to work together. The OS is like a wholesaler in the retail products industry. The wholesaler connects the factory to the retail store. The OS connects the hardware (motherboard, RAM, hard drive, web cam, microphone, printers, and etc.) to the apps.
